About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education - Lincoln. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide small group assistance to students, adapting support strategies to meet their specific learning needs.
Assist in managing challenging behaviour, using appropriate strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
Assist in the development and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
Maintain strong communication with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent support for each student.
Help maintain a positive classroom environment, utilising appropriate behaviour management techniques.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role or working with children is highly desirable.
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with a calm and positive approach.
Relevant qualifications or training in education or special educational needs support is advantageous.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
