Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our client schools. As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide vital assistance to students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they are fully included in all learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, promoting their educational and emotional well-being.
  • Assist in developing and implementing SEN learning strategies and behaviour plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, supporting both the academic and emotional needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Help students to develop their social and communication skills.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • An understanding of SEN strategies and their impact on student learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with challenging behaviour.
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.

Please note that this role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
