Role Purpose:- Manage the day-to-day operation and effectiveness of the Purchasing Department, ensuring seamless communication with internal stakeholders.
- Led commercial impact of sourcing operations, including costs, rebates, payment terms, and cash flow.
- Team Management: Oversee the Purchasing team, prioritizing tasks, escalating issues, coaching, performance management, and communication.
- Demand Planning: Develop and implement processes to ensure the right stockholding based on customer demand schedules and forecasts, engaging regularly with the Sales team.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge within the Purchasing team by arranging product training, attending industry events, and participating in cross-functional learning sessions.
- Financial Performance: Lead cost reduction and value addition workstreams across all suppliers, negotiating price, MOQ, MOV, specification, shipping costs, rebates, and payment terms.
- Continual Improvement: Identify, validate, and implement process improvements within Purchasing to remove/reduce risk and inefficiencies, promoting best practices.
- Quality: Manage and resolve non-conformances and customer complaints, identifying root causes with effective corrective actions.
- Administration: Ensure accurate records on the management system, enabling report generation and data analysis, working closely with Warehouse and Accounts teams.
- Rollout of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
- Fluent in a second language (advantageous)
- Advanced commercial understanding and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail with strong competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Sharepoint)
- Competitive salary circa £55,000 per annum
