About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Trustee to join our team at Hackney Playbus. As a key member of our Board, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial stability and effective administration of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and approve budgets, accounts, and financial statements
  • Ensure that the charity's financial resources meet its present and future needs
  • Develop and implement an appropriate reserves policy
  • Advising on the financial implications of our strategic plans
  • Ensure that the charity has an appropriate investment policy and that there is no conflict between any investment held and the aims and objects of the charity
  • Monitor the organisation's investment activity and ensure it is consistent with our policies and legal responsibilities
Requirements
  • Skills and experience in accounting and financial management in the Not for Profit sector
  • A genuine interest in the provision of a welcoming and inclusive community-based service for families with children under five
  • A commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to communicate financial information in an understandable way
