Position Title: National Honorary Treasurer
Job Type: Volunteer (Part-Time)
About Us: The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship (CSRF) is a national charity dedicated to providing friendship and support to former civil servants and their dependents. We are committed to providing charitable services to ensure that all our beneficiaries are able to make the most out of retirement and rely on the dedication and expertise of our volunteers to help us achieve our goals.
Role Overview: The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees and plays a critical role in overseeing the financial affairs of the charity. The Treasurer will ensure financial stability, compliance, and integrity, supporting the charity\u2019s mission through sound financial management and reporting.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor the charity\u2019s financial health and ensure financial stability. Oversee the management of the charity\u2019s bank accounts and investment portfolio.
- Budgeting and Planning: Work with the Chief Executive on the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates to the Board.
- Financial Reporting: Work with Chief Executive to prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Trustees and relevant stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate filing of annual accounts, tax returns, and other statutory financial reports.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws. Consult with external auditors and oversee the audit process. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Fundraising and Resource Management: Support fundraising activities by providing financial insights and analysis.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Essential: Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
- Desirable: Experience working with non-profit organizations or charities. Professional accounting qualification is a plus.
