About the Role

We are seeking an Industrial Placement Web Developer to join our Accelerator Controls team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing web user experience solutions for our industrial placement students.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in software development and computing, with experience in programming languages such as JavaScript. You will be able to work collaboratively with our team to design and develop web applications that meet the needs of our industrial placement students.

About the Team

Our Accelerator Controls team is responsible for the collection and dissemination of data related to the control and status of our accelerators. We use this data to support our crew in the main control room, who use the software we develop to monitor and control the accelerators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop web user experience solutions for industrial placement students
  • Collaborate with the team to design and develop web applications
  • Work with programming languages such as JavaScript
  • Contribute to the development of web applications that meet the needs of industrial placement students
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
  • Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
  • Able to commence employment in summer 2025
  • A software development or computing discipline
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience programming in an object-oriented language such as JavaScript
  • Ability to work with other developers in a team
  • Ability to adapt based on feedback from other developers and users
