Job Title: Disability Employment Adviser

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with flexible hours considered. As a Disability Employment Adviser, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to leaders on employment matters, coaching people leaders on best practice in managing and developing their teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with first-line managers to implement effective HR policies and practices that support business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refer high-risk ER cases, including claims and Occupational Health.
  • Lead the management of casework across the employee lifecycle, from attendance to disciplinary actions.
Performance Management:
  1. Develop and coach people managers in performance management of employees, leading capability-related casework and advising managers on relevant policies.
  2. Partner and coach first-line managers on leading teams, performance managing, and ensuring employee delivery on development goals.
  3. Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance managing and improving employee delivery on development goals.
Policy Management:
  1. Review and amend internal People policies to comply with legislation and best practice.
  2. Prepare guides and training for people managers to support their ability to manage performance, disciplinary, grievance, and sickness in the business.
Reporting:
  1. Prepare ad hoc and regular management reports, monitoring and reporting key metrics, such as turnover and retention rates, and engagement statistics.
  2. Use HR information systems to access, input, and compile data that identifies trends and themes in the business.
People Team:
  1. Provide support and guidance to the HR operations team and payroll.
  2. Support the utilization of the learning ecosystem and People Knowledge Hub.
  3. Support the Head of People in delivering HR programs, including TUPE transfers, restructuring, outsourcing, engagement, annual performance cycles, and compensation.
  4. Thorough knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures and experience in writing guides to support and drive change in performance management.
  5. Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently.
  6. Commercial acumen and understanding of Data Analytics and spreadsheet use.
  7. Able to interpret data and provide insights.
  8. Employee policy and legislation knowledge.
  9. Experience in developing HR policies and processes.
  10. Experience of running Employee Engagement programs.
