Role Overview

The Complex Motor Claims Handler position at AIG is a key role in our Claims team, responsible for handling complex claims efficiently and effectively. This role requires a skilled claims professional with experience in managing third-party motor claims, including personal injury claims, third-party property damage, and credit hire claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage complex claims, ensuring accurate and timely reserving.
  • Pro-actively communicate with claimants and their representatives to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Contribute to meeting departmental Key Performance Targets and achieving personal objectives.
  • Promote compliance with best practices for claims assessment and handling, and demonstrate principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  • Collaborate with the Claims Manager and claims team to provide feedback on claims issues, wording, and market trends.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in handling third-party motor claims, including personal injury claims, third-party property damage, and credit hire claims.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to manage various stakeholders (customers, panel lawyers, brokers, etc.).
  • Detailed knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment for motor claims handling.
  • Ability to make informed decisions on legal liability, damage assessment, and investigation or rehabilitation needs.
