Job Overview:

We are seeking a part-time Food Technology teacher for a SEN school in Coventry. As an experienced educator, you will be responsible for planning, assessing, and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of our students.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with pupils aged 11-19 who have high levels of anxiety associated with autism spectrum disorder and/or early trauma. You will play a vital role in fostering their life skills, promoting their well-being, and supporting their academic progress.

About the Role

You will be responsible for teaching Food Technology, monitoring pupil progress, and adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students. Your expertise will enable you to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages pupils to develop their culinary skills and explore their interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver effective lessons in Food Technology that cater to individual student needs
  • Monitor and track pupil progress in this subject, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Foster a love of food and cooking among pupils, encouraging them to experiment with new recipes and ingredients
Requirements
  • You must possess resilience, a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills
  • Be patient and understanding when working with students who require additional support

The estimated salary for this role is approximately £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
