Technology Project Team Leader

Job Summary:

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a skilled Technology Project Team Leader to join our Emissions and Product Regulatory Compliance department. In this role, you will have business-side responsibilities in support of development, deployment, and maintenance of Caterpillar's bespoke software systems used for various certification, compliance and related workflows.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver software tools to improve the speed and accuracy of certification, compliance and related workflows.
  2. Ensure project scope, requirements and use cases are well defined for successful software development and user acceptance testing.
  3. Coordinate resources across the department, engineering groups, manufacturing facilities, IT and other functional areas as needed.
  4. Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders and participating organizations; address and resolve problems; drive projects to completion on time and within budget; ensure usability of delivered solutions and realization of business value.
  5. Provide specialized technical support and consulting to various areas of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • Expert knowledge of project management strategies and tactics.
  • Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirements development and analysis.
  • Effective communication concepts and techniques.
  • Decision-making process and associated tools and techniques.
  • Team building techniques.
  • Technical excellence in software development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Blackbelt or other project leadership certifications.
  • Extensive experience developing requirements in support of business software development.
  • Expert knowledge in use of Microsoft content management, collaboration, and reporting tools including Sharepoint and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter and other product data management systems.
  • Experience with Caterpillar's CDM system.
  • Experience with multiple approaches to change management and leading teams to successful implementation of new processes and tools.
