Academic Mentor for SEMH Pupils

About the Role:
Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced and compassionate wellbeing coach to join our alternative provision in Exeter. The ideal candidate will support pupils aged 11-16 in overcoming social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- Deliver engaging wellbeing sessions to enhance pupils' emotional resilience, self-esteem, and social skills.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create a therapeutic and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Work one-on-one with students to build trusting relationships and promote personal growth and academic engagement.
- Inspire and motivate students to fully participate in their education and development.
- Assist students on outreach activities in the community.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, continually enhancing their educational experience.
Candidate Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working with children or adults facing SEMH challenges.
- Strong ability to engage with children, especially those with challenging behaviours.
- Flexible and adaptive approach to meet students' needs in various settings.
- Committed to safeguarding and the welfare of young people.
