About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our innovative and rapidly expanding Cancer Prehabilitation and Rehabilitation service at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care to patients receiving cancer treatment, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide holistic assessments, interventions, and support.

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering occupational therapy interventions to patients with cancer, including fatigue management, well-being support, and vocational rehabilitation.

You will also support patients in promoting healthy living and behavior change, and contribute to the evaluation of the service against Key Performance Indicators for feedback to Yorkshire Cancer Research.

About the Service

Our Active Together service is a prehabilitation and rehabilitation program designed to support people with cancer, providing physical activity, nutrition, and wellbeing guidance.

Launched in Sheffield in 2022, the service has expanded to new sites across South Yorkshire, and this is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver prehabilitation and rehabilitation pathways, helping thousands of patients across the region.

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with our team to develop and improve the existing service, contributing to its growth and success.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, with current HCPC registration and a commitment to Continuous Professional Development.

You will also need to demonstrate experience in post-registration roles in a range of clinical areas, including surgical and medical care, and have a strong understanding of cancer care pathways within the NHS.

Able to work independently and as part of a team, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to reflect and critically appraise your own performance.
