About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and child-centred Teaching Assistant to join our team at Lisburne School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with severe and complex needs, providing individualised support to help them overcome personal barriers and obstacles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and social support to pupils with complex needs
  • Assist in the delivery of the specialist curriculum, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Participate in professional development to ensure high-quality provision

Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to become involved in professional development to ensure high-quality provision
  • Willingness to adapt calmly to ever-changing situations
  • Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and Team Teach (desirable)
  • Level 3 TA qualification or knowledge of different educational needs (desirable)
