Project Engineering Lead – Export Support

About the Role:

At Leonardo, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Lead to join our Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) division. Our mission at CS3 is to provide innovative and essential support solutions to our clients throughout the UK.

This position is part of the Typhoon Support team, which is responsible for delivering and sustaining in-service capabilities for the Typhoon Aircraft Radar Systems and Praetorian Defensive Aids Sub-System globally. As a Project Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for managing technical elements in-service, including hardware, software, test solutions, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, prioritize, and drive Engineering work packages while adhering to budget, schedule, and contract requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Create engineering plans, estimates, Statements of Work, and related documentation.
  • Provide monthly reports and metrics to engineering and project management teams.
  • Support engineering management in Planning, Risk, Scheduling, Work Package management, and Design Reviews.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Management and Chief Engineers to make timely decisions.
  • Mentor and oversee the performance and growth of the engineering team.
  • Ensure project compliance with company policies and procedures, including life cycle management.
  • Participate in Programme Design Reviews to address project drivers and risks effectively.

  • Proven communication and negotiation abilities at all levels.
