About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead our Water Engineering team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the civil design of projects, mentoring junior staff, and providing technical expertise to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead the civil design of projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, helping them to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Technical Expertise: Produce technical specifications and calculations, and provide expert advice to clients on water infrastructure projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure clear understanding of deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Safety: Take ownership of aspects of project safety, ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Civil Engineering degree qualified.
  • Experience: Experience delivering detailed outlines and designs of potable water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Leadership: Experience of leading project teams in line with agreed scope, fee, and programme.
  • Mentoring: Ability to provide mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff.
  • Travel: Flexible to travel to other AECOM and client offices.
