Advanced Biomedical Scientist – Digital Lead

At HCA Healthcare UK, we're seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to lead our Digital Pathology department and provide support for backlogs. As a key member of our Histology team, you'll be responsible for carrying out routine and complex investigations and analysis of tissue using specialized laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice as an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist and maintain registration.
  • Follow HCA Labs standing policies and procedures to ensure an efficient delivery of laboratory service.
  • Comply with the code of practice of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and HCPC and work consistently to ISO and UKAS accreditation.
  • Lead Digital Pathology in HCA Cellular Pathology department and provide support for backlogs.
  • Carry out unsupervised routine and more complex investigations and analysis of tissue using specialized laboratory equipment.
  • Be responsible for delegated tasks involved in the day-to-day organization and delivery of a clinical pathology service with high standards of patient care.
  • Assist with the establishment and development of departmental policies and procedures to ensure an efficient delivery of laboratory service.
  • Assist Section Head/BMS3 in the formulation of departmental strategies for the training and development of all non-medical staff within the department and users of the service as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a Histology lab.
  • Experience working in Digital Pathology.
  • Member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
  • Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences is desirable.
