Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our histology service, working closely with a friendly team of scientists and doctors in a modern laboratory.

Main Duties

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Biomedical Science and be registered with the HCPC. They will be responsible for providing technical support to the histology service, including specimen dissection, laboratory techniques, and quality management. The successful candidate will also be expected to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing their work activities and meeting deadlines.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • IBMS Accredited BSc Biomedical Science degree
    • Completed IBMS specialist portfolio
    • Registration with the HCPC as a biomedical scientist
  • Desirable:
    • MSC in relevant field
    • Experience of staff training
    • Experience of digital pathology
