We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Marylebone Diagnostic Centre. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing fast and reliable diagnostic services to our UK-based and international customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake analysis of blood samples for routine haematological and blood tests, ensuring that all necessary records are generated and kept.
- Monitor and act on quality control, participating in the annual joint review process.
- Participate in the training and supervision of staff within the department as directed by your senior.
- Reception and preparation of samples prior to analysis, taking necessary actions to reject or correct problems.
- Data entry onto laboratory computer system, ensuring results are reported and urgent or abnormal results are telephoned and/or referred to relevant clinical staff.
- Monitor QC samples tested as part of internal and external QC schemes within the section that the post holder is rostered on.
- Arrange transportation and safe packaging within legislation.
- Answer telephone enquiries and handle these, giving out results when required to authorized personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Pathology/Medical Laboratory.
- Experience with laboratory equipment such as Haematology analysers, biochemistry analyser, Immunochemistry analyser, Microscope, and PCR.
- UK applicants only.
- Full-time position.
- 8 hour shift.
- Day shift.
- Weekend availability.
- Overtime.
- Sick pay.
