Job Title: Environmental Test Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Test Engineer to join our team. As an Environmental Test Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering complex test campaigns on various programmes, utilizing cutting-edge equipment and techniques. Your tasks will include multi-shaker and multi-axis vibration (random, sine, and mixed mode), high g shock, altitude, humidity, and other test conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver all aspects of the test programme, from initial costings to a Test House Certificate certifying the work conducted.
  2. Work in accordance with company and local quality procedures to ensure all testing is conducted to the required standard for missile development and qualification.
  3. Collaborate with other teams to conduct functional testing, equipment maintenance, and test planning.
  4. Utilize measurement equipment and devices, including accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.
  5. Develop and maintain strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  6. Apply a methodical and logical approach to all activities, ensuring a high level of safety and quality.

Requirements:

  1. HNC/HND/Degree qualified in a relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  2. Good problem-solving skills and a sound fundamental knowledge of mechanical structures and analysis.
  3. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  4. Experience using measurement equipment and devices.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrable experience leading or working as a team in the delivery of projects.
  2. Previous experience using Siemens Testlab vibration control equipment or other automated mechanical test systems.
  3. Previous experience identifying and delivering capability and technical improvements.

We offer a competitive salary of £45k - £55k and a permanent position in a dynamic and innovative company.

Security Clearance:

Due to the nature of the work, incumbents of this position are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore this vacancy is only open to British Citizens or dual nationals with British Citizenship. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared.
