Job Title: Environmental Design Engineer

A unique opportunity to join the Environmental Engineering team at MBDA as a Mechanical Design Engineer, designing test fixtures for the application of vibration and shocks to a range of MBDA products.

Job Summary:

This role is supporting the Environmental Engineering teams at MBDA with mechanical design work. The primary purpose of the role is to design test setups and test fixtures for mechanical and climatic testing as well as maintaining a database of all fixture designs and test setups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design mechanical test fixtures to be used for vibration and shock testing across all MBDA products.
  • Work closely with project and test teams who will provide details on test requirements, interfaces and products for testing.
  • Maintain a database of all fixture designs and test setups.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND/Degree qualified in a subject relevant to the role or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience of mechanical design work using CAD tools, ideally CREO.
  • Good problem solving skills coupled with a sound fundamental knowledge of mechanical structures and analysis.
  • IT Competence including MS Word, Excel and Access.
