Pest Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pest Management Specialist to support our Legal Department at Deeside Head Office. As winter months approach, pest activity increases, leaving stores vulnerable.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review and maintain effective pest management processes, providing technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Central Services and Property, on pest management initiatives.
  • Lead weekly escalation meetings with the competent pest control contractor and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site reviews to assess current measures and provide technical recommendations for effective pest control.
  • Undertake sample audits of stores where pest control contractors have completed works.
  • Communicate business risk internally regarding pest activity.
  • Develop training programs, including induction and refresher material, to promote proactive and reactive pest control strategies.
  • Monitor and report on pest control compliance and contractor performance.
  • Liaise with external authorities, such as environmental health officers, with support from the Head of Regulatory.
  • Lead on pest-related food safety complaints and provide input for the weekly retail update.
Requirements:
  • BPCA Certified Advanced Technician or RSPH Level 3 in Pest Management.
  • Level 3 Food Safety Qualification.
  • Level 3 Health & Safety Qualification.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Programs.
  • Legislation of pest control and ability to identify business risks.
  • Proven experience managing pest compliance at a multi-site food business.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and legal frameworks.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and overnight stays.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
  • IT literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
