Job Title: Highway Principal Engineer

Access Talent Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Principal Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design consultancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating resources to exceed client expectations, working within budget constraints, and building a network of external and internal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project delivery, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Negotiate fees and manage commercial positions on projects, maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction.
  • Develop relationships with the wider teams throughout the company, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as adherence to CDM Regulations and other relevant legislation.
  • Supervise and take responsibility for members of the team, including programming and allocating work, and assisting in the training and development of staff.
  • Prepare schemes for tender using the NEC family of Forms of Contract, Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works, and the Standard Method of Measurement.
  • A proven track record of successful tendering and delivery of schemes in the local or national transport market or for private developer clients.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) or other relevant design standards.
  • Experience of managing a professional team on projects, with a strong focus on organizational skills and coordination of delivery activities.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of robust business processes and systems, with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with a client-focused approach.

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 Per Annum
