Job Title: Highway Principal Engineer

Access Talent Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Principal Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design consultancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating resources to exceed client expectations, working within budget expectations, and building a network of external and internal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project delivery, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and CDM Regulations.
  • Negotiate fees and manage commercial positions on projects, developing relationships with the wider teams throughout the company.
  • Supervise and take responsibility for members of the team, including programming and allocating work, and assisting in the training and development of staff.
  • Prepare schemes for tender using the NEC family of Forms of Contract, Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works, and the Standard Method of Measurement.
  • Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) or other relevant design standards.
  • Experience of managing a professional team on projects, with strong communication and influencing skills, and a clear understanding of the importance of robust business processes and systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successful tendering and delivery of schemes in the local or national transport market or for private developer clients.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate the delivery activities of a professional team.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of quality and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality projects.
