Job Title: Community Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children, young people, and their families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing detailed mental health assessments for young people, including the identification and management of risk factors. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, bringing a nursing perspective to the team and representing the service in meetings with other agencies. You will also contribute to a learning environment for student nurses and mentor students.

As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will maintain a caseload of young people, working in an evidence-based and time-limited way, including the use of outcome monitoring to measure progress and client satisfaction. Interventions may involve working individually with young people and their carers, as well as with families and groups. Sessions will take place at the team base and at other locations in the community, requiring flexibility and an ability to work in an agile way.

About NELFT NHS Foundation Trust

NELFT NHS Foundation Trust is a welcoming and supportive working environment, committed to providing high-quality community and mental healthcare services to adults and children across North East London, Essex, Kent, and Medway. We are proud of our award-winning equality and diversity initiatives, staff health and wellbeing activities, and our commitment to supporting our employees holistically.

What We Offer
  • A long-standing and award-winning approach to equality and diversity, with supportive networks for ethnic minority staff, staff with disabilities or long-term/chronic conditions, and LGBT staff.
  • A commitment to supporting colleagues to achieve a work-life balance, through flexible working opportunities and our efforts to support our working parents and carers.
  • Proactive health and wellbeing support, including access to our employee assistance programme, staff psychological support, individual wellbeing conversations, and a network of health and wellbeing ambassadors.

We are a flexible working friendly organisation, and we want to ensure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement, whether that's a job share, part-time hours, or another flexible pattern.

Requirements
  • RMN Post Registration Qualification to Degree level or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience of working therapeutically with children/young people and their families.
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk factors.
