About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing goal-focused rehabilitation, supporting patients to become experts in their own care and remain in their own homes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working with a variety of service users, have good self-management skills, and be able to prioritize their case load. You should ideally have experience working in various clinical settings, with knowledge of the challenges of community working.
This role offers a unique opportunity to undertake a leadership position, planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating rehabilitation provided. You will be responsible for supervising junior staff and students, building networks and relationships across multiple sites and clinical teams.
You will work closely with OTs, Physiotherapists, Associate Practitioners, and Assistant Practitioners to deliver excellence in care. Our commitment to integrated working and innovation makes this an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing holistic assessments and interventions for patients
- Developing and implementing personalized rehabilitation plans
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff and students
- Contribution to quality improvement initiatives and research projects
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Professional knowledge and skills acquired through formal training, short courses, and experience
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Experience working in a community setting, preferably with a similar client group
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £38,672 - £44,587 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (if applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata), and access to a range of NHS discounts.
