We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Services Specialist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Services Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a medicines management service to patients within the prison environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing prescriptions and stock items, while supervising assistants when in the dispensary. Stock control will also be an essential aspect of the role, involving tasks such as undertaking stock top-up services and reviewing expiry dates and storage facilities for all medicines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a medicines optimisation service to the prison
  • Delivering a medicines administration service to offenders at the designated times
  • Undertaking medicines reconciliation for prisoners admitted to the prison
  • Supervising assistants in the dispensary and ensuring high standards of work
  • Collaborating with the Senior Prisons Technician to develop and monitor medicines optimisation SOPs

A competitive salary is on offer for this exciting opportunity. We estimate the salary to be around £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
