Assistant Head of Department Multi-Skills Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Assistant Head of Department for Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades at our esteemed college in Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day support to the Multi-Skills Trowel Trades teams, ensuring seamless operations and excellent student outcomes.
- Assist with timetabling of courses across the Department, adopting a student-centred approach to maximize learning opportunities.
- Chair course team meetings, documenting meeting minutes to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop and implement a teaching support cover rota for the Department, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing disruptions.
- Support, develop, and embed a collaborative approach to planning, preparation, and adaptation of resources, ensuring all students reach their full potential in every learning environment.
- Embed English & Maths throughout the curriculum and at the centre of all study programmes, promoting academic excellence and student success.
- Monitor and act upon poor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour in line with college processes and procedures, ensuring area and College targets are met.
- Ensure an outstanding student experience and excellent outcomes and progression, fostering a culture of excellence and achievement.
- Develop industry contacts to ensure currency of curriculum content and provide work experience opportunities, enriching the student experience and preparing them for future success.
- Must hold Level 5 or above teaching qualification, such as DET, DTLLS, or Cert Ed/PGCE.
- A Construction qualification relating to the curriculum area is essential.
- Must hold or be working towards an IQA Award or equivalent, demonstrating a commitment to quality assurance and improvement.
