Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as an Assistant Head of Department for Multi-Skills and Trowel Trades. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head of Department in overseeing and enhancing the curriculum for Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, and Adult courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Assist in the development and implementation of a student-centred curriculum for Multi-Skills and Trowel Trades courses.
- Staff Management: Manage staff and resources within the Multi-Skills and Trowel Trades area, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Teaching Support: Provide day-to-day support to the Multi-Skills and Trowel Trades teams, including timetabling and course team meetings.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and act upon poor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, ensuring that area and college targets are met.
- Student Experience: Ensure an outstanding student experience and excellent outcomes and progression, embedding English and Maths throughout the curriculum.
- Industry Partnerships: Develop industry contacts to ensure currency of curriculum content and provide work experience opportunities.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold Level 5 or above teaching qualification, such as DET, DTLLS, or Cert Ed/PGCE, and a Construction qualification relating to the curriculum area.
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and staff management.
