About the Role:

The Rigging Loft Manager is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills. The successful candidate will oversee the inspection, management, and maintenance of all rigging and lifting equipment within the loft, ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lifting Equipment Inspection:
    1. Conduct regular inspections of lifting equipment to ensure it is in good working order and compliant with regulations.
    2. Identify any defects or faults and implement procedures for repair or replacement.
    3. Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and equipment usage.
  2. Equipment Management:
    1. Manage the storage and inventory of lifting equipment, ensuring it is properly organized and easily accessible.
    2. Control the flow of equipment in and out of the loft, ensuring only certified and safe items are used in operations.
    3. Implement procedures for damaged or defective equipment, including isolation, reporting, and removal from service.
  3. Training and Development:
    1. Provide training to team members on lifting equipment inspection, usage, and management.
    2. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment inspections, certifications, and usage history.
    3. Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with safety protocols and efficient use of equipment.
  4. Leadership and Communication:
    1. Lead a team of technicians and engineers in the inspection, management, and maintenance of lifting equipment.
    2. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and suppliers.
    3. Maintain accurate records of meetings, decisions, and actions taken.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: LEEA, LOLER, or other recognized certifications for rigging and lifting equipment inspection.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of lifting gear examination, handling, storage, and maintenance practices.
  • Safety-Oriented: Comprehensive understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and OSHA regulations.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for report writing, documentation management, and conducting staff training.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for identifying equipment faults, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum.
