Job Summary
  • We are seeking a Heavy Lift and Crane Coordinator Supervisor who will oversee day-to-day operations as the appointed person responsible for reviewing, approving, and coordinating all crane rigging and lifting activities at the site. This role involves providing technical direction and information to subcontractor supervisors to ensure timely and quality completion of the project.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring schedule requirements are clearly defined and communicated to all levels of craft discipline and/or supervision, while also interpreting technical requirements, providing technical data, and ensuring compliance with standards, procedures, and contractual commitments.

This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of current industry lifting practices. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing and supervising lifting operations, including coordination of free issue tower cranes and mobile cranes, as well as experience working with AutoCAD software.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partners with the Construction Manager to ensure complete adherence to Black and Veatch's Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, and Guides.
  2. Monitors, verifies, and reports on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule, tracks completion of project schedule activities, and commodity installation.
  3. Resolves problems and reports issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety in collaboration with subcontractors/superintendents.
  4. Ensures competent and practical adherence to Black and Veatch's standards and lessons learned.
  5. Communicates issues and new project lessons learned to capture potential future implementation.
  6. Conducts regular subcontractor meetings to review and assist in daily, weekly, and monthly planning.
  7. Develops and monitors 3-week look-ahead schedules for assigned work scope.
  8. Develops corrective plans to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.
  9. Verifies availability and on-site presence of necessary material, manpower, and other resources to support the 3-week look-ahead schedule.
  10. Develops, monitors, and reports on completion of subcontractor punch list activities.
  11. Maintains a daily log for site records.
  12. Reviews subcontractor timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
  13. Monitors supplier Technical Service Representative (supplier) daily log and reviews/approves their timesheets.
  14. Coordinates daily and weekly work plans with other discipline superintendents/facilitators and construction manager.
  15. Monitors assigned subcontractor(s) for compliance with subcontract scope and schedule requirements.
  16. Develops a stable working relationship with assigned subcontractor(s).
  17. Works with Field Subcontract Administrator(s) in preparing extra work authorization requests (RFMPs/WAs).
  18. Collaborates with Construction Engineer in compiling or answering Contractor Information Requests.
  19. Administers the execution of work packages and equipment installation.
  20. Develops and distributes Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages within scope.
  21. Identifies potential back charges and out-of-scope issues, reporting to Construction Manager. Supports commercial recovery process.
  22. Adheres to safety and quality standards applicable to duties and accountabilities.
  23. Sustains continuous improvement efforts and change management effects associated with implementation of improvements.

Expected salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
