This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires a passion for working with individuals who have experienced homelessness. As a Housing Support Worker, you will work with clients on a one-to-one basis, providing intensive support to help them achieve their goals and eventually achieve independent living.
Main Responsibilities:- Work with clients to identify their needs and develop a comprehensive support plan that is tailored to their unique circumstances.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with outreach workers and other service providers to ensure seamless support for clients.
- Support clients in accessing essential services, including healthcare and social services, to improve their overall well-being.
- Assist clients in navigating the benefits system and tenancy legislation to secure stable housing.
- Encourage clients to focus on their strengths and talents, and support them in making positive lifestyle changes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection protocols.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in using IT systems and software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Passion for working in a client-facing role, with a commitment to delivering high-quality support services.
- Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
- Understanding of the complexities surrounding homelessness and related issues.
- Knowledge of best practice in supporting individuals with drug/alcohol and/or mental health issues.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle, with a willingness to travel to meet clients in their communities.
