Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Homeless Support Specialist to join our team at TWO SAINTS. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing intensive, one-to-one support to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a caseload of clients, working with them to identify their needs and create personalized support plans.
  • Build relationships with outreach workers and other agencies to ensure seamless support for clients.
  • Support clients in accessing benefits, attending appointments, and engaging in services to improve their physical and mental health.
  • Encourage clients to focus on their strengths and talents, promoting positive behavioral and lifestyle changes.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and provide ongoing support to clients, addressing any concerns or challenges they may face.
  • Collaborate with external partners to maximize opportunities for clients, ensuring successful tenancy and community integration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, adhering to relevant systems and protocols.
  • Stay informed about Housing First principles and best practices, applying this knowledge to support clients effectively.
  • Participate in regular supervision, appraisal, training, and meetings to ensure ongoing professional development.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, working across all areas of operation as required.

Requirements

  • Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good IT and keyboard skills, with the ability to navigate relevant systems.
  • A polite, assertive manner, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • A genuine passion for working with individuals experiencing homelessness, with a commitment to helping others.
  • Knowledge of the benefits system, tenancy legislation, and relevant best practices.
  • A valid driving license and access to a car, with the ability to work in a variety of settings.
