Job Title: Homeless Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Homeless Support Worker to join our team in Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch. As a key member of our Housing First team, you will play a vital role in providing intensive, one-to-one support to clients, helping them maintain their accommodation and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans for clients, working closely with them to identify their needs and goals.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, outreach workers, and other agencies to ensure a comprehensive support network.
  • Support clients in accessing benefits, attending appointments, and engaging in services to improve their physical and mental health.
  • Work with clients to identify their strengths and talents, encouraging them to build on these and make positive lifestyle changes.
  • Conduct regular home visits and community outreach to provide support and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, using relevant systems to a high standard.
  • Work collaboratively with external partners to maximize opportunities for clients and ensure successful tenancies.
Requirements
  • Clear verbal and written English
  • Good IT and keyboard skills
  • Polite, assertive manner, ability to self-motivate
  • Passion for working in a client/customer-facing role
  • Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation
  • Interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues
  • Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies
  • Knowledge of best practice in supporting people with drug/alcohol and/or mental ill health issues
