Job Title: Dietitian - Specialist Oncology

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dietitian to join our team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Oncology Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in providing expert nutritional support and care to patients with Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of Dietitians, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nutritional care plans for UGI cancer patients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and provide expert advice to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on optimal nutrition and lifestyle choices.
  • Lead education and training sessions for healthcare professionals, patients, and carers on nutrition and cancer care.
  • Contribute to research and audit initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and outcomes.
Person Specification:
  • BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in UGI cancer, acute oncology, and palliative care.
  • Clinical supervision training and experience.
  • Leadership skills and ability to integrate well into teams.
  • Sound knowledge of current issues relating to cancer and nutrition support.
