Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Dietitian to join our team at https://jobs-redefined.co/sitemap. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Senior Adult multidisciplinary oncology team to provide expert nutrition advice and support to patients and carers.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop personalized care plans to optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Communicate complex dietary information to patients and carers using advanced counselling and communication skills.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings and outpatient clinics to provide expert advice on nutritional support.
  • Diagnose malnutrition and recommend appropriate nutrition interventions to reduce the risk of refeeding syndrome.
  • Prescribe dietary regimens for lung oncology patients using evidence-based practice.
  • Refer patients to other services for monitoring and therapeutic support following discharge.
  • Work with the catering department to ensure suitable meal provision for oncology patients.
  • Order, deliver, and monitor specialist nutritional supplements for individual client needs.
  • Provide supervision to allocated band 6 dietitians and carry out regular one-to-one meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation on individual patients.
Requirements:
  • BSc Nutrition & Dietetics or BSc degree in a relevant science subject plus Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • Clinical supervision training.
  • Evidence of post-graduate specialist counselling skills course in oncology, bereavement counselling, or breaking bad news.
  • BDA oncology group membership.
  • Recent experience of working in lung oncology, palliative care, and with senior adults.
  • Clinical supervision skills.
  • Sound knowledge of current issues relating to cancer and nutrition support.
  • Knowledge of national lung oncology strategies, policies, guidance, and pathways.
