Project Manager Opportunity

RSK Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in the West Midlands, UK.

The Role:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing site teams delivering infrastructure and non-infrastructure works in live environments, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the scheme with zero defects.

You will work on water sector projects across the Severn Trent region, managing interfaces with members of the public, clients, and other trades.

The role will include building customer relationships, ensuring a strong rapport is developed through the scoping, pricing, and delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage labour, plant, transport, and equipment on site, ensuring all operations are carried out in a safe and legal manner and in accordance with the project plan.
  • Direct teams in the construction of the works, monitoring the allocation of labour to ensure tasks are carried out within their level of skill and experience.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all personnel on site and that site activities do not cause adverse environmental impact.
  • Manage relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Produce delivery programmes and liaise with planners to ensure compliance with NEC/Contract standards.

  • Monitor and review the performance of site staff, including performance appraisals and disciplinaries.
  • Travel when required/needed.
  • Carry out quality and safety inspections.
  • Onboard, allocate, and manage Sub Contractors and sub-contract labour.
  • Motivate the teams.

Requirements/Experience:

Experience in the water industry on non-infrastructure projects in both clean and waste water environments.

Skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • NEC 3&4 Contract knowledge, including drafting notifications and supporting programming.
  • Set standards of health and safety.
  • Experience of leading a team of site workers.
  • Experience of planning and organising own workload.
  • Ability to manage customer, supplier, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of CDM and industry requirements.
  • Awareness of employment legislation and best practice.
  • Computer literacy, MS Office suite.
  • Ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines, often under difficult conditions.
  • Ability to manage a team or task in accordance with the project plan.
  • Willingness to undertake training and development.
  • Produce complex project-specific RAMS.
  • Take off materials from drawings and schedule for procurement.

Qualifications:

Mandatory

  • CSCS
  • NVQ level 6 or 7
  • Full UK driving licence
  • First aid
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene (Blue card)
  • SMSTS

Desirable

  • National Highways Passport
  • Appointed Person (Lifting)
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK)
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Temporary Works Coordinator
