About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Health and Social Care professional to join our team as a Family Support Worker. The successful candidate will work closely with families, professionals, and community partners to deliver high-quality support services that meet the unique needs of each family.

The primary focus of this role is to provide light-touch support to families for 4-6 weeks, with the aim of achieving positive outcomes and improving the overall well-being of children and young people. You will be required to work independently, traveling across the contract operating area of Selly Oak and Hall Green constituencies, and occasionally visiting other areas to meet with professionals or families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality support services to families, focusing on health, wellbeing, and education
  • Work closely with multi-agency teams, including statutory, Birmingham Children's Trust, and community partners
  • Conduct home visits where necessary and adhere to lone working policies
  • Travel independently across the contract operating area and occasionally visit other areas

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care
  • Safeguarding and multi-agency working experience
  • Ability to travel independently and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in managing difficult conversations and conflict effectively
