Job Purpose

The CareTech Group is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate reporting of the Group's financial position and performance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced finance professional to take on a challenging role and make a real impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the delivery of R2R process improvements projects, driving change and innovation within the business.
  2. Work closely with senior management to develop and implement reporting processes, controls, and systems that meet the needs of the business.
  3. Review and reconcile month-end balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Group policies.
  4. Provide timely and relevant financial information to the Executive Board and Senior Leadership Team, enabling informed decision-making.
  5. Deliver meaningful variance analysis, highlighting areas for improvement and driving business growth.
  6. Support the wider business in operational finance, ensuring the needs of the business are met.
  7. Manage day-to-day operational relationships within the team, including direct line management of two accountants.
  8. Maintain and improve internal controls, ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies.
  9. Assist with external audit queries and year-end processes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar chartered accountant qualification).
  • Clear examples of managing and delivering change, with a proven track record of success.
  • Previous line management experience and a background in developing staff.
  • Proven experience of data manipulation and modelling using SQL, Excel, and other tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Board and non-financial stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with the ability to identify issues and use initiative to solve problems.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • A hands-on approach, with a pragmatic and solutions-based mindset.
