About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our team at Lidl GB. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing operational and capital expenditure accounts, identifying and understanding spend drivers through in-depth analysis, and overseeing the cross-departmental Operational Budget planning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage operational and capital expenditure accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify and understand spend drivers, providing recommendations for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Oversee the cross-departmental Operational Budget planning process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reporting and Procurement KPI reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Act as the point of contact for cost management between Procurement and relevant internal departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure the organization's internal cost management procedures are accurate and well maintained, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Present financial updates to Senior Management, providing insights and recommendations for business growth and improvement.
  • Work closely with category managers to identify and implement cost-saving potential, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Provide advice and guidance to category managers on cost management topics, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Contribute to strategic projects with high-level autonomy and leadership, working closely with the Board of Directors to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with main business stakeholders to identify service optimization and value improvement opportunities, driving business growth and profitability.

Requirements

  • Experience working in an analytical role with a track record of successfully managing cost and data analysis projects.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically, with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage expectations, and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in creating clear and concise reports and dashboards, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines, with a high level of autonomy and leadership.
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel and familiarity with VBA, with a strong understanding of Accounting principles and practices.
  • Comfortable challenging existing processes and implementing change, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Ability to work with Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools, with a strong understanding of business software and systems.
