Accounting Advisory Assistant Manager

You will be a key member of the growing financial reporting advisory national team, supporting the wider team and assisting managers to deliver work across a portfolio of corporate clients. Your focus will be on technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidations, including the practical application of accounting standards under FRS102, IFRS, and FRS 101.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting managers to deliver complex accountancy-related projects for clients, including IFRS transition consultancy work and acquisition accounting and complex consolidations.
- Developing and maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and fulfilling the professional bodies' CPD requirements.
- Acting as a focal point of contact with clients, communicating problems or contentious issues to the manager or responsible partner, and identifying suggested solutions.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and projects, including client care responsibilities, project management, and WIP/billing management.
- Liaising with other departments within the office, especially the audit and tax teams.
- Acting as a coach to more junior members of the team, and participating in staff training and supervision as required.
Personal and Professional Qualities
- ICAS or equivalent qualification.
- UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting experience.
- Experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent accounting advisory team or experience providing written accounting advice to clients.
- A strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and to add value.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience of working with clients.
- Experience of supervision of junior staff.
- Experience of Microsoft Office, with high competency with both Excel and Word.
