Financial Reporting Advisory Assistant Manager

At RSM, we are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Advisory Assistant Manager to join our growing financial reporting advisory national team. As an assistant manager, you will support the wider team and assist managers to profitably deliver work across a portfolio of corporate clients, focusing on technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidations.

This role requires a strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting principles, as well as experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent accounting advisory team or experience providing written accounting advice to clients.

Key responsibilities include supporting managers to deliver complex accountancy related projects for clients, developing and maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge, and acting as a focal point of contact with clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements, commercial awareness, and the ability to add value. They will also have strong project management and organisational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop further skill sets, including business development and coaching of junior staff, and to work with a variety of colleagues and businesses across the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting managers to deliver complex accountancy related projects for clients.
  • Developing and maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge.
  • Acting as a focal point of contact with clients.
  • Management of a portfolio of clients and projects.
  • Liaising with other departments within the office.
  • Coaching junior staff and participating in staff training and supervision.

Requirements:

  • ICAS or equivalent.
  • UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting experience.
  • Experience of working in a professional practice.
  • Strong understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to add value.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
