Job Description

Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all operational aspects and related financial aspects of assigned customers and new projects from initial proposal stage through to serial production and subsequent changes. The successful candidate will ensure that project deliverables are achieved and are in line with customers', internal business, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage customer relationships to ensure a high level of Net Promoter Scores.
  • Develop and maintain wide customer relationships to ensure a very high level of Net Promoter Scores.
  • Utilise company account management tools, ERP systems, and comply with the company's processes to maintain strict account governance.
  • Work with procurement to ensure project quotations and components are obtained on time.
  • Develop timing plans with agreement from the Project Team to meet customer/business need dates.
  • Review the status of projects against the timing plans and provide information for the regular NPD reports.
  • Manage the production of samples/prototypes in line with the project timing requirements.
  • Raise orders, as required, for material, tooling, and equipment such that programme needs dates can be met.
  • Identify any process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure that all business is maintained at high levels of gross margin and operating profit.
  • Ensure all TT systems are updated with the latest standards to deliver operational and financial excellence.
  • Ensure that all tooling, non-recurring costs, and company labour is sold/delivered profitably and there is a timely collection of income.
  • Ensure that all financial forecasting (Revenue, Order Intake, and Order Book), within the current, month, quarter, and year outlook is accurate and timely.
Working Capital & Risk
  • Ensure that TT maintains outstanding working capital across its accounts.
  • Take responsibility for collection within terms of all accounts receivables.
  • Secure inventory greater than industry standard turns.
  • Ensure excess and obsolete material claims are collected in a timely manner.
  • Take responsibility for closure of timely and accurate customer pricing deviations.
  • Maintain and execute customer contracts to eliminate any risk for TT Electronics.
Relationship Management
  • Be the primary focal point for the customer operational relationship, including customer satisfaction, problem, and conflict resolution, and escalation.
  • Work with the Operations teams to ensure TT delivers outstanding operational execution, including ensuring we exceed customer request and commit dates and we maintain a high level of quality.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to delight the customer and deliver a rich customer experience with TT.
  • Conduct regular customer meetings, including monthly meetings, quarterly business reviews, and strategic business reviews.
  • Establish and maintain standard methodologies for project and program management, in conjunction with existing procedures.
Quality Systems
  • Adhere to company and departmental procedures to ensure compliance to ISO9001:2008, AS9100, and IRIS, and other requirements, including customer-specific requirements.
Reporting
  • Utilise standard tools and processes and regularly report to TT electronics leadership team on customer, account status, opportunities, problems, and outlook.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in directly related fields, with a thorough knowledge of the customer and their market.
  • Five plus years direct Project Management experience in electronic manufacturing or a directly related field.
  • Preferential Engineering background desirable.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and analyse periodicals, business reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Financial acumen and numeracy, including ability to read a P&L and Balance Sheet, calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Reasoning ability, including ability to collect data, solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Computer skills, including ability to use office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, slide presentations, internet browsers, email, and business systems software (CRM, ERP).
Work Environment and Travel

The role holder will primarily be based at our Fairford site, but also may be required to work from another TT site. Sufficient provisions must be made by employee to accommodate his/her working environment.
