Strategic Financial Leadership Position at a Leading University

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, to lead our finance function and propel us toward our income growth goals.
About the RoleThis strategic financial leadership position presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional to shape our university's financial strategy and drive income growth. You will play a pivotal role in developing a robust financial plan, analysing performance metrics, and ensuring our strategic developments are financially sustainable.
As Director of Financial Planning and Strategy, you will:
- Develop a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with our Strategic Plan and Financial Strategy.
- Work closely with Deans, Executive Directors, and cross-functional teams to ensure our financial efforts align with our Strategic Plan.
- Analyse performance metrics, manage risks, and ensure our strategic developments are financially sustainable.
- Collaborate with the Head of Policy and Planning to refine our university's planning approach and provide financial insights to enhance various aspects of our operations.
You will be expected to have a deep understanding of Higher Education, including funding structures, regulatory frameworks, and risk factors. Your analytical problem-solving skills, emotional intelligence, sound judgement, and political awareness will be essential in driving our financial success.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree level qualification or equivalent with a relevant professional accountancy qualification.
- Strategic financial leadership experience in a large and complex organisation.
- A proven ability to influence the direction of organisational development and translate strategic goals into action.
- Demonstrable experience of leading an effective finance function with evidence of successful management of human and financial resources.
