Emotional Health Practitioner

The role of Emotional Health Practitioner at The Children's Society is to provide low-intensity support under a brief intervention framework to children, young people, and young adults in our Emotional Health & Wellbeing services based in Birmingham.
About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team. As an Emotional Health Practitioner, you will work with children, young people, and their families to deliver improved wellbeing and address mental health concerns.
You will need to have a good working knowledge of young people's mental health issues, including interventions on how to support them in overcoming these challenges. IT skills are also essential for this role, as you will be required to use clinical record-keeping systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop therapeutic relationships with children, young people, and their families
- Provide direct low-level therapeutic support that is person-centred
- Deliver improved wellbeing for children and young people presenting in crisis
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A genuine passion and working knowledge of young people and mental health
- Experience of working in settings with young people who have emotional, behavioural, and/or mental health concerns
- A background or worked in Healthcare, Education, Youth Work, or Social Work
- Good IT skills, including experience of using clinical record-keeping systems
