About the Role

Compass is seeking a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our Birmingham Team. As a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) provider in education settings, we aim to ensure Children and Young People (CYP) access the right help, at the right time, in the right setting.

We have a successful track record in early intervention health and wellbeing services for children and young people. Our team uses a wide range of creative and dynamic methods of engagement, including digital interventions, across community and educational settings.

As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will work closely with our team to provide evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues. You will also support designated senior mental health leads in each setting and provide timely advice to school and college staff and parents as required.

Requirements

  • Be a suitably qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner
  • Knowledge of educational environments
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues
  • Knowledge of capacity and consent issues including Gillick competence
  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others
  • Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders
