The University of Essex seeks a highly skilled Research Officer to join its Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies. The successful candidate will have a key role in the construction of The Free Clinics Archive, contributing to the conception and preparation of exhibitions and other archive-material centred events and activities.

The post will be primarily held in the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, and the Research Officer will collaborate with the PI, two postdoctoral fellows, a PhD researcher, and the communication and events officer to deliver the research objectives of the project.

The ideal candidate will possess an MA in archival studies or the management of the cultural sector, with excellent research skills and experience working with psychoanalytic archives. Knowledge of all aspects of constructing and maintaining an archive is essential, and language skills in German constitute an advantage.
