Job Summary

The Bar Manager at JW Marriott Grosvenor House is responsible for the daily operations of the Red Bar, including supervision of staff, managing budgets, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and handle stress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily shift operations and provide leadership and direction to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all Red Bar policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Work with the culinary team and F&B leadership team to improve the product offering and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Communicate with all staff daily, holding briefing sessions on the day's business and relevant information.
  • Ensure that hourly employees have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs.
  • Protect company assets and maintain a secure environment.

Financial Objectives

  • Maintain an appropriate staffing level and ensure that sufficient staff is on duty to cope with the volume of business and operational needs.
  • Comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in the financial management of the department.
  • Manage P+L results, including wage costs, beverage costs, and controllable costs.
  • Drive sales and grow business by executing upselling techniques and managing inventories according to budget and business levels.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Provide excellent customer service in line with brand standards and provide a positive example for guest relations.
  • Welcome and acknowledge every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting.
  • Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.
  • Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
