About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maternal Medicine Consultant to join our team at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our obstetric team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women with complex maternal medicine needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Consultant of the Week ward round rota, reviewing all antenatal women and selected high-risk postnatal women admitted to the maternity base.
  • Process consultant antenatal clinic referrals and provide flexible escalation support to the Maternity Assessment Unit as needed.
  • Take part in incident reviews, attend the Term Admissions meeting, and review pregnant women admitted to the trust for non-obstetric reasons.
  • Participate in the Antenatal Weekend Consultant rota, providing separate cover on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 12pm.
Requirements
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the Advisory Appointments Committee.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • ATSM in Maternal Medicine or equivalent experience.
  • ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice or equivalent experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ATSM in High Risk Pregnancy or equivalent experience.
  • Clinical training and experience in General Obstetrics and Gynaecology equivalent to that required for UK CCT.
  • Clinical training and experience in a tertiary maternal medicine centre.
