Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team as a Specialist SACT Nurse in Oncology and Haematology.

About the Role: As a Senior Staff Nurse - Specialist SACT Nurse (Oncology and Haematology), you will be responsible for administering systemic anti-cancer therapy and supportive treatments to patients with various types of cancer. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer systemic anti-cancer therapy and supportive treatments
  • Use clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient's needs
  • Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care
  • Deliver high-quality holistic care to patients
  • Assist with Holistic Needs Assessments
  • Complete UKONS triage and assessments
  • Provide care for acute oncological and haematological emergencies
  • Interact with practitioners from other departments
  • Educate patients in the management of their care

Requirements:

  • NMC registered and a qualified nurse
  • UKONS SACT passport (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 6 months SACT administration experience
  • Proficient in phlebotomy, cannulation, and accessing Central Venous Access Devices
  • Competent in UKONS triage
