Countryside Operations Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Countryside Operations Manager to join our team in the Lake District National Park Authority. This is a key role that requires someone with excellent leadership and communication skills to manage Field Rangers and volunteers, and deliver practical work programmes.

The successful candidate will oversee practical activities to ensure owned rural properties are well maintained, negotiate and write up practical work plans with landowners and partners, and supervise contractors undertaking practical delivery.

This role offers a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in the countryside, working closely with other staff, managing Field Rangers and making best use of volunteers. The ideal candidate will have several years of relevant experience in countryside management or a related field, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead Field Rangers and volunteers to deliver practical work programmes
  • Ensure owned rural properties are well maintained through effective oversight and management
